Koi was founded in 2019 by Dhabya Al-Muhannadi as a Qatari fashion line with a simple focus: contemporary, casual ready-to-wear abayas that don't ask you to choose between style and comfort. Every piece is made from carefully sourced, imported fabric, built to move with you and to last.

The name comes from the Koi fish — a symbol of luck, fortune, and prosperity across Asian cultures. It's also a fitting metaphor. Left in a stagnant pond, a koi's scales dull and grey. Placed in clean water, it thrives, its colors coming alive. We believe the same is true for people: our surroundings shape us, and what we wear is part of that. It's why we hold our fabric and construction to a high standard — because an abaya should feel like clean water, not a dirty pond.
